Economical measurement with computed tomography

5x faster and more accurate

We set standards in multi-sensor systems and computed tomography

Werth ScopeCheck®, VideoCheck® and TomoScope® coordinate measuring systems contribute to a successful technology change and drive the digitalization of production.

There is growing confidence among manufacturing companies in the great rationalization potential of coordinate metrology with computed tomography. Since the market launch of the TomoScope® XS series in 2017, Werth has also focused special features on the development of small and medium-sized CT measuring systems. The modern machines offer both increased measuring speed and higher resolution and are suitable as a solution for modern drive concepts in the automotive sector, for example. The TomoScope® XS Plus, for example, enables 100 percent inspection of battery cells for particle detection. With these machines, cycle times of a few tens of seconds per battery cell can be achieved, depending on the particle size. With new tomography methods, particles down to a few 10 µm in size can be reliably detected. The layer overhangs in individual cells and geometrical characteristics such as the inner and outer diameter of the electrode winding and their form errors can be measured with the image processing sensor in the volume section. The TomoScope® XS Plus is also suitable for measurements of battery sleeves close to production.
Thanks to their modular design, Werth machines and accessories can be easily optimized for different applications in combination with new software processes. For example, Werth has been working with customers for several years to develop intelligent software processes, particularly for the medical technology industry. Among other things, these enable automatic CT measurement of individualized implants. The implants are measured together, assigned by serial number, evaluated and the results documented in the respective measurement protocol. The WinWerth® measurement software recognizes the individual implant fully automatically and then generates the corresponding measurement program.

With length measurement errors of MPE Euni of up to (0.25 + L/900) µm and (0.15 + L/2000) µm respectively, the VideoCheck® HA and VideoCheck® UA are the world's most accurate multi-sensor coordinate measuring systems. In the patented Raster Scanning HD mode, for example, large fiber optic couplers with thousands of small bores can be measured automatically. The overall image achieves resolutions of up to 20,000 megapixels (approx. 140,000 × 140,000 pixels with a pixel size of 5 µm).
All Werth ScopeCheck®, VideoCheck® and TomoScope® machines have a traceable specification according to VDI 2617 or ISO 10360. Certification by the Werth DAkkS laboratory accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for the calibration of coordinate measuring machines with optical, tactile and (as the first and until 2018 only facility of this type) X-ray tomography sensors or according to the SEMI guidelines (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) is also possible on request.
