Complex geometries are a special feature of taps. Important parameters are the profile of the thread tooth, pitch, pitch, flank diameter, relief and pointing. With tolerances of approx. 10 µm to 15 µm, the requirements for measurement uncertainty are high. While measurement time is considered, it is of secondary importance. Due to the thread pitch, shadowing can occur when measuring with the image processing sensor, so the additional use of a tilt axis is recommended.
