The 3D patch is an area sensor based on the focus variation principle with automatic adaptation of the sensor parameters to the respective surface properties of the workpiece. The optical sensor enables fast 3D nominal-to-part deviation analyses of surface areas or purely dimensional evaluations. With the 3D patch, the topography of even small detailed areas can be measured optically with high lateral resolution.
